Dentures

Dentures

There are various kinds of dentures available, but all share a common function: replacing teeth that have become loose or were lost. Dentures are a removable replacement for missing teeth and can be either full or partial oral appliances. Natural, existing teeth may need to be prepared for dentures to fit properly. In some cases, teeth may need to be extracted and your mouth given a chance to heal before new dentures can be placed.

Immediate Dentures

Immediate dentures are available while a complete set of permanent dentures is being made, and can be immediately put in once the teeth are removed. Dentures may require adjustments once healing takes place, and achieving optimal comfort and fit could take several appointments. After proper fit has been achieved the dentures may take some getting used to, but over time a patient’s smile is enhanced with this easy-to-care-for solution.

How to care for dentures

After you receive your dentures, you’ll be instructed on how to properly clean them to eliminate bacteria and other particle buildup. Make sure to handle your dentures carefully, and make sure not to bend or damage the appliance. It is important to clean your mouth and brush your dentures daily, and to soak the dentures overnight with a mild soaking solution.

Schedule regular check ups

Even with dentures, regular dental check ups are still necessary to have your dentures examined and professionally cleaned. Our doctors can also help make sure your dentures still have a proper fit to prevent slippage and discomfort. And with any check up, Our doctors will also examine the inside of your mouth to make sure it’s healthy.

Love your smile.
